Woman Shows Grandfather Engagement Ring Through Window Due To Coronavirus Restrictions
Heartwarming photos show the moment an excited newly-engaged woman shared the news with her grandfather through the window of his nursing home.
Twenty-two-year old Carly Boyd said yes to her partner’s proposal over the weekend but due to current coronavirus restrictions in the US wasn’t able to visit her granddad at the Premier Living and Rehab Center in Lake Waccamaw.

However, she was determined to share the good news and show him her engagement ring, so she popped around to her grandfather’s window where she could see him resting on his bed.
Speaking to KOLD about the touching moment, Carly said: “I really wanted to be able to tell my grandfather because he has dementia and there’s no phone in there that he has access to. I just really wanted to make an effort to tell him.”
Carly said staff came up with the solution, telling her they could ‘walk around the building and pull the blinds up’ so she could tell him the happy news.
Facility administrator Gennie Parnell took the photos, which were shared by April Bass, the community activity coordinator alongside the caption: “Coronavirus didn’t stop this granddaughter and grandfather from sharing this happy moment.”
The adorable images have since gone viral and have been flooded with comments from complete strangers who have offered congratulations to the couple and well wishes for the family.

Opening up about the experience, Carly told the news outlet: “I just… it was very… oh my gosh, I’m going to cry. It was very special.
“I got really emotional and really sad and I just put my hand on the window, and he put his there too. I just told him I love him, and he said, ‘I love you too and I hope to see you soon’, like reallysee you.”
Is someone chopping onions in here?
Restrictions are in place in the US, and other countries, in an attempt to protect the most vulnerable during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
