'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' Remastered Evidence Mounts
Evidence suggesting a remaster of is in development is starting to mount in a big way. We’ve heard a few rumours over the past couple of weeks that Activision is planning a return to Infinity Ward’s massively popular 2009 shooter, and it’s looking more and more likely.
Just recently, a product listing for showed up on the Korean Ratings Board, tipping a bucket of fuel onto the fiery rumours that claim a souped-up version of the game will be launching for PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year. Presumably alongside whatever the brand-new 2020 Call Of Duty game ends up being.
As spotted by Nibel on the Game Rating Administration Committee’s website, something called “Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign 2 Remastered was apparently rated on February 26, just last month. It also lists Blizzard Entertainment as the publisher. There’s not an awful lot of room for ambiguity there, is there?
Interesting, no? What’s even more interesting is that this isn’t even the first time a remaster has been spotted in the wild. Around this time last year, a very similar listing was spotted on the PEGI website before being taken down.
Again, this listing only made reference to the game’s campaign. Does this mean the remaster – if indeed it is real – won’t feature the original game’s multiplayer? Unclear, but given 2019’s reboot features a number of classic maps from , it might be that Activision thinks it best to stick to remastering the single-player experience.
Whatever the case, we’ll have to take all of this with a pinch of salt until Activision outright confirms the existence of such a remaster. But that’s not to say it isn’t looking likely. @Okami13, who previously leaked news of last year’s Gunfight alpha before it was announced, recently claimed that will launch this year.

Not long after that, TheGamingRevolution, who has a solid track record with Call Of Duty rumours, also suggested that is one of the multiple COD games in development at Activision. They also said that the game is expected to arrive in 2020.
In the same post, The GamingRevolution also claimed that we’ll be getting a new Crash Bandicoot game, another free-to-play Call Of Duty title in addition to , and a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster. A lot potentially going on at Activision then – we should hopefully learn more in the next few months.
