'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare' Update Introduces A New Map And Operator

With over 30 million players now dropping into the free-to-play , you might be wondering what the future holds forThe good news is that despite the recently-released spinoff game’s immense popularity, developer Infinity Ward clearly has zero intention of abandoning the 2019 shooter any time soon.

Later today, will be getting a content update that introduces a brand-new multiplayer map and operator. As detailed over on the Activision blog, the new map is called Khandor Hideout. First teased by Activision in the game’s Season Two roadmap, Khandor Hideout is a medium-sized arena that supports 6v6 matches.

The map is set in the fictional country of Syrkistan, and should support a fairly wide number of strategies and loadouts thanks to its long sight lines and interior spaces. A warehouse in the middle of the map should be a good spot for those who want to get up close and personal, and I’m sure players who prefer to keep a distance will find areas to suit their style.

Activision also had this to say about the new operator, Talon:

“A new Operator joins the Coalition – Talon. Talon comes alongside his fierce dog Sasquatch that’s also ready for combat. Sasquatch skills are on display in Talon’s Finishing Move, one of many items in Talon’s bundle. The bundle also includes two Legendary weapon blueprints and two tier skips! Visit the Store this week and get the Talon bundle, available tomorrow, to jump into a Multiplayer match or drop into with this new Operator.”

Finally, the publisher detailed four new weapons that are coming to in the new update. The 725, MK2 Carbine, .50 GS, and EBR-14 will all be available in the battle royale around the same time gets its new content.

If the 725 sounds familiar to you, it should. This cursed shotgun was easily one of Modern Warfare’s most controversial weapons when it first launched, owing to its incredible power and unfair accuracy. With a few modifications, it was basically a sniper rifle with the power of a shotgun.

It has, mercifully, been nerfed since then – but it took Infinity Ward a few goes to get it right. Hell, even now there are players who still think the 725 is a bit much. I look forward to seeing how it changes the large-scale multiplayer mayhem of in the coming weeks.
