If you’re old enough to have experienced gaming in the late ’90s, you may remember , an action game that was released on the Nintendo 64 (and the PlayStation, PC and Dreamcast) back in 1999. And if you have fond memories of the quirky, voodoo-themed game, then you’re in luck: is heading to both PC and consoles – and yes, that includes the Switch.

The announcement sees Valiant Entertainment teaming up with publishers Nightdive Studios to bring the game to both new and old audiences alike. This is what Stephen Kick, CEO at Nightdive Studios, had to say about the upcoming title:

“Our goal with the remaster is to give today’s generation of gamers all the features that they expect from a modern title while preserving the qualities that made Valiant’s iconic character and the original Shadow Man game such memorable classics to begin with.”

will use Nightdive’s KEX engine which is already being used to restore other classics such as . It will also support a number of new features including the reintroduction of content that was cut from the original, game, 4K widescreen display, HDR rendering as well as a handful of other graphical improvements.

The original game was based on Valiant’s comics of the same name and was even republished back in 2014 on PC. But the newly announced remaster will be the first time that Valiant has been directly involved with the development of the game and is the publisher’s latest effort to expand into other mediums. Fans of Shadow Man – both the game and the comic – might be pleased to hear that a new comic series is also planned for this year.

“As part of our continued growth into the video game industry, we’re happy to bring Valiant fans this immensely popular character as the next title we release,” said Dan Mintz, Chairman and CEO of Valiant Entertainment in the press release. “Using this platform allows the Valiant fans to experience and explore the universe creatively.”

Remastering and remaking old titles seems to be becoming the trend more and more these days. The demo for the upcoming remake of was released last week, ahead of the game’s official launch on April 3. And many fans are eagerly awaiting the , which now has a release date of June 5.

There’s no release date for quite yet, but we do know that’s it’s heading to PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.
