'World Of Warcraft' Offers Huge Incentive To Keep Players At Home

It feels like the media is filled with a huge variety of suggestions of things you could do to help keep you occupied during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Obviously, staying indoors, at home, is a given – and while that may not be a particularly daunting prospect for gamers, many companies are doing their best to make their particular games as enticing as possible. And Blizzard is no exception.

If you’ve been taking a break from – or if it’s something that you’ve been considering playing for years, but haven’t quite gotten around to – now is a great time to jump into Blizzard’s massively popular MMO. Why? Because last Friday, Blizzard announced a 100% experience buff to all players.

That’s a increase to normal experience gains, and even stacks with heirloom gear (which also gives XP bonuses) as well as other experience-increasing sources such as potions and the Darkmoon Faire buff. And while it’s true that levelling is already pretty quick when compared to , unless you’re going to dedicate some serious hours to the task, it’s still going to take most players a week or two to hit max level.

To give more context, loads of players took advantage of the experience buff that was available during the 15th Anniversary event – and that was only 15%. And I personally saw a member of my guild go from level 81 to 120 yesterday – he was playing a warlock, too, so no fast queues for dungeons.

The ‘Winds of Wisdom’ buff is active now and will run for a month until April 20. It’s a brilliant time to level up those alts that you’ve been neglecting, or grab the heritage armour for those allied races that you’ve unlocked but not played yet. And if you’re in even more of a hurry to reach max level, don’t forget you can currently make a Death Knight with any race if you’ve pre-ordered .

If, on the other hand, you’re diving into Azeroth for the first time, the buff extends to the Starter Edition too. So really, this is a win for any level of player. Cheers, Blizzard!

EA’s New ‘Rocket Arena’ Is More Than Another Battle Royale

BY THEREDNOW STAFF Y’know when games get revealed and they don’t really do it for you, at the first time of asking? I definitely got the impression that, after its spot on this year’s EA Play presentation, that has firmly fallen into that category. What was shown off covered some key bases: this is a […]
