'God Of War' PC Port Looks Likely After Changes Spotted On PlayStation Website

2018’s was arguably the best game of the year, and certainly one of the finest PlayStation 4 exclusives to date. A gorgeous, epic, emotional adventure that smartly re-positioned one of gaming’s most violent and over-the-top brutes as a thoughtful and conflicted father. One who constantly wrestled with the consequences of his brutal past and tried to forge a better example for his son.

It really was a just a sublime piece of work on every level. The only problem with it? It’s only available on PS4. Now, I’m never going to attack a game for being exclusive to one platform because… well, that’s just how this industry works. But if there’s ever a chance for a great exclusive to come to another platform? I’m sorry, but that can only be a win. More people being able to enjoy a great game is a bad thing, no matter what a vocal minority of complete idiots might try and tell you.

Great news then, as it looks like might actually be making the jump to PC soon. The official PlayStation website tends to list its exclusives as “Only on PlayStation,” but this is no longer the case for Kratos’ latest adventure. Fans spotted a similar change to ‘s page a few weeks before it was officially announced that Kojima’s open world oddity would be coming to PC, which strongly suggests will be following suit.

It’s fair to say that most of us have been waiting on PlayStation to announce more PC ports of classic PS4 exclusives after the company confirmed would be making the jump earlier this month. Given the immense critical and commercial success of , it would be a worthy and welcome addition to any gamer’s PC library. I’d also to see what the PC modding community would do with the game if given the chance.

Other PS4 exclusives like , and still all boast “Only on PlayStation” on their respective pages at the time of writing… so I guess don’t expect to see them come to PC anytime soon. Still, if and can make the move, then I suppose any PS4 exclusive is fair game at this point.

As always, we’ll have to wait for some kind of official confirmation, but I certainly wouldn’t rule this one out right away. With the PS5 still on track to release this year, perhaps Sony has realised it might as well open up its impressive library of single-player exclusives to a wider audience. I certainly hope so.

BY THEREDNOW STAFF Y’know when games get revealed and they don’t really do it for you, at the first time of asking? I definitely got the impression that, after its spot on this year’s EA Play presentation, that has firmly fallen into that category. What was shown off covered some key bases: this is a […]
