A New Character For 'Mortal Kombat 11' Seems To Have Leaked Online

isn’t any stranger to leaks and rumours. Just last month, we reported on a video posted by YouTuber Dynasty, who talked about a leak that claimed Michael Myers, Ash Williams and others would be heading to NetherRealm Studios’ popular fighting game by way of DLC content.

Well, it seems that the chance of Ash Williams (of fame) joining the roster is becoming more and more likely. Keen-eyed fans seemed to spot copyright material related to Ash in the legal blurb at the bottom of an email promoting the current DLC. One Twitter user posted his findings on the social media site with the message, “Ummm did Warner Bros just leak Ash from the in their Spawn e-mail campaign?”

If the text is a bit too small for you to make out, it reads: “‘ASH’ character from ” is licensed from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc.” Of course, this could just be photoshopped in as a joke, or to add credibility to the earlier leak. But if it is genuine, it means we’re likely to hear official word soon.

The original leak came to light on 4chan back in January, claiming that a number of DLC characters had been datamined – including Michael Myers, Fujin, Sheeva, Havik, Takeda, and Ash Williams. It added that new Story Mode chapters were apparently on the cards, too. But it should also be noted that Bruce Campbell, who plays Ash in the movies and on TV, is said to have denied the character’s involvement in the game, when asked directly at the time.

There’s still no official word from NetherRealm about a , but it’s fair to suggest that we should hear something soon. Spawn’s release earlier this month was the last of the initial DLC characters, so it shouldn’t be long before we hear word on the next load of characters to join the roster.

In related news, it seems that Sam Raimi is working on a new Evil Dead movie, though perhaps not in the way you might think. Alongside Bruce Campbell and producer Rob Tapert, Raimi is working with a young filmmaker who is writing a new story that said young filmmaker will direct. Raimi also said that he’d love to direct a new movie, but won’t do it without Campbell; who in turn says that he’s retired the Ash character for good.
