New Comic Bridges Gap Between 'God Of War 3' And Kratos' Current Adventures

The two-year anniversary of the massively successful PlayStation 4 exclusive is fast approaching. And since there’s been no official confirmation of a sequel from developers Santa Monica Studio, you may well be wondering how and where you’re going to get your next Kratos fix.

Well, there is some good news. Dark Horse Comics is releasing – you guessed it – a God of War comic entitled , which will explore the events after the ending of . Fans of the series will remember that Kratos appears to be finally free of the control of the gods at the conclusion of the third game, but the ending is still pretty ambiguous. This new comic should be enough to satisfy those who are still curious about the events that immediately follow the 2010 title.

is written by Chris Roberson (known for ), with artwork by Eisner-nominated artist Tony Parker (). It will the first of four comics, and the first instalment will be available on June 24.

The description reads:

” follows Kratos after conquering Zeus and thwarting Athena. Believing himself to be finally free of his bondage, he sets sail for the desert in an attempt to distance himself from his home and his shame only to find his rage and guilt follow close behind. Kratos rages against the one foe that has proven to be unconquerable – himself. But a war against oneself is unwinnable, and only invites madness.”

In other recent God of War news, YouTuber Lance McDonald managed to hack the camera in and revealed a pretty hilarious secret, right at the end of Kratos’ fight with The Stranger, near the beginning of the game.

And if you’re waiting to see if the 2018 title will ever arrive on PC, it’s not quite as unlikely as you may have first thought. It seems that the “Only on PlayStation” label that tends to accompany PlayStation exclusives is no longer present for . Coincidentally, the same thing happened to ‘s listing, shortly before it was announced that it was heading to PC. Read into that what you will.
