, the kids TV show about a blue heeler dog and his family, has won an International Emmy Kids Award.

The programme was the only Australian entry in its category and managed to take home the gong for best preschool TV show.

The awards ceremony was meant to be held in Cannes, France yesterday, however the event had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus. Thankfully though, the winners were still announced.

Set in Brisbane, the show follows a six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy named Bluey, who lives with her father, Bandit; mother, Chilli; and younger sister, Bingo.

is made by Ludo Studios, with co-founder Daley Pearson over the moon about the win.

“We’re so proud of (creator) Joe Brumm and the whole gang of beautiful artists at Ludo,” he said.

“They’ve created a beautiful show celebrating one of the most important things: imagination and game play.

This is the third time Ludo Studios has won International Emmy Award, with and also receiving awards.

is one of the ABC’s most popular shows in its history. It is the most viewed programme on iView, having been watched a casual 241 million times since its launch in 2018.

It couldn’t have come at a better time considering season two has just launched.

You can watch each episode as it gets broadcast, which is every day at 8am on ABC Kids and again at 6:20pm.

After they get shown on the telly, you can watch them back on iView as well as the other 52 episodes that belong to season one.

It’s been praised left, right and centre for offering a good look at a nuclear family growing up in Australia. Strong family values are promoted during the series and viewers get an insight into how parents can play with their kids.
