You’re probably looking at how to stay fit during this coronavirus lockdown now that all gyms and workout studios are closed across Australia.

There are loads of places that will be selling exercise equipment and there doesn’t seem to be any shortage of supply.

But, in a bizarre move, Bunnings has thrown its hat into the ring and has started selling stuff to get your heart rate up.

The company’s online store MarketLink has revealed a new batch of exercise gear ranging from solid hardware to accessories.

You can get yoga mats, resistance bands and skipping ropes in one section. In another, you can buy heavy duty stuff like treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and rowing machines.

Everything advertised online can be sent to your home, meaning you don’t have to break a sweat before you break a sweat.

Some items certainly aren’t cheap, with exercise machines costing upward of $600 in some cases.

But, it certainly would help to run on a treadmill than outside where you’re at risk of catch Covid-19.

It comes after Bunnings introduced measures to prevent people from panic buying materials during this coronavirus pandemic.

Australia’s managing director Michael Schneider told Channel 9: “As the uncertainty continues we want to make sure we can reassure customers that if you come to Bunnings you can get the products you are looking for.

“And you can get the things done at home you need to.”

Shoppers are restricted to a maximum of four items per person for cleaning and storage products, gardens sprayers and batteries.

Customers will only be able to buy one item in the category of generators, gas bottles, respirators or face masks, fuel cans, methylated spirits and turpentine.

While these limits might cause irritation for some people, it’s meant to allow everyone to have a chance at buying items they need.

Mr Schneider said in a press release: “We’re seeing increased demand for some products and we want to be as fair as possible for customers.

“We are working closely with suppliers to get stock into stores to meet customer demand and our suppliers have been a huge support in making this happen.

“Our store teams are doing an incredible job looking after our customers and working to get stock onto the shelves as it comes in and I’d like to thank them for all their efforts.”
