'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare' Season 3 Announced With Surprise Returning Character

Season 3 is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday, April 8th. As was the case with the last two seasons, there’ll be a slew of new maps, modes, operators, and other cosmetic goodies to work your way through. Most of it for free, and some of it available via the in-game battle pass (which can also be purchased with in-game currency, but it’s a bit of a grind).

Anyway, ahead of the third season’s impending launch, Activision and Infinity Ward have released a teaser revealing a surprising returning character. Take a look for yourself below.

If you played through the single-player campaign of 2019’s reboot, you’ll probably be as surprised as the rest of us to see that Alex is coming back as a playable operator. Alex was one of the four main characters in the campaign, but the C.I.A operative appeared to give his life to save his comrades in a touching, shockin moment.

Clearly though, the reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated – although he didn’t come away from his sacrifice completely unscathed. As you can see, Alex is now rocking (and I mean seriously ) a brand-new prosthetic leg. He’s quite clearly ready to use it to kick some arse, and I for one can’t wait to see him get stuck in.

Having a playable solider with a prosthetic leg is obviously a huge move forward for Call Of Duty, and it’s already been met with plenty of praise. And as Infinity Ward narrative director Taylor Kurosaki pointed out on Twitter in response to one sniffy fan, it’s entirely realistic. Just take a look at this hero:

While we can expect to learn more about what’s in store for Season 3 over the next few days, a number of leaks have already revealed a few exciting bits and pieces. Just last week, an apparent glitch seemed to uncover the existence of two returning maps: Backlot () and Village (). I’d imagine we can an official trailer will be dropping either later today or tomorrow.

EA’s New ‘Rocket Arena’ Is More Than Another Battle Royale

BY THEREDNOW STAFF Y’know when games get revealed and they don’t really do it for you, at the first time of asking? I definitely got the impression that, after its spot on this year’s EA Play presentation, that has firmly fallen into that category. What was shown off covered some key bases: this is a […]
