'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Massively OP Blueprint Ignites Pay-To-Win Accusations

has been out since October last year. It’s free-to-play battle royale spinoff, , released last month and has already amassed an incredible amount of players. In that time, Activision and Infinity Ward have seemed pretty committed to keeping PS4, Xbox One, and PC gamers united through implementing features like cross-play and ensuring all maps arrive on all platforms at the same time.

While there’s a battle pass and an in-game store, all purchasable items have only ever been cosmetic. Even those most critical of and couldn’t say that either game is pay-to-win. That is, until just recently. One recently discovered weapon blueprint in the battle royale mode that’s quite clearly broken has caused fans to accuse Activision of implementing pay-to-win mechanics on the sly.

For those that aren’t aware, weapon blueprints are essentially unlockable custom pre-sets that can be used to transform a standard gun and its stats via the Gunsmith menu. Reddit user ChickenYug first discovered an issue with an EBR-14 blueprint called Line Breaker (thanks, VG247).

Line Breaker is only available through the highest tier of the battle pass, and ChickenYug has found that its headshot damage is… well, it’s ridiculous. As you can see from the video below, Line Breaker is able to take a player from full health and armour to dead on the floor with one quick headshot. For the context, the standard EBR-14 only breaks armour with a headshot.

Given that the EBR-14 has never been considered a popular weapon in or , many are now accusing this damage-boosting blueprint of being pay-to-win.

The most likely explanation is that this is just another bug and an unintentionally powerful weapon, just like the 725 shotgun exploit that ran rampant through when it first launched. There was also the brief glitch in that allowed players to revive each other in the gas indefinitely, and even a bug recently that seemed to reveal two of the upcoming Season 3 maps.

What I’m trying to say is that and have had their fair share of bugs and glitches, and there’s nothing to suggest that the game was attempting anything untoward with the Line Breaker blueprint.

No doubt now that ChickenYug has made this visible to the entire community, Activision and Infinity Ward will address the damage output in an upcoming patch. Until then, get ready for the sneakier players out there to abuse the hell out of this one.
