'Modern Warfare' And 'Warzone' Season 3 Content Teased In New Email
Season 3 drops tomorrow (April 8th), bringing with it new content for the game’s multiplayer mode and the free-to-play battle royale . While we still don’t officially know exactly what’s coming in this third season of content drops, a handful of leaks and datamines have painted a pretty comprehensive picture already.
The most recent leak seems to have come from Activision itself. As reported by CharlieIntel, the publisher appears to have sent out a promotional email a little early, teasing some of the content we can expect, as well as a fresh look at a returning character in action. Take a look for yourself below, as “operators return, new gear arrives, and worlds collide.”

We already know what Activision means by “operators return,” of course. Just yesterday the publisher gave us our first (official) look at Season 3, revealing that Modern Warfare’s Alex would be returning. Old Alex was a major player in the 2019 reboot, but the C.I.A operative appeared to sacrifice himself to save the world during the single-player campaign.
Season 3 shows that he made it out alive, however, and is now ready to return to the battle with a prosthetic leg that he’ll presumably use to kick some arse. As you can see from the image above, Season 3 will also be giving Alex a pretty awesome alternate look which I assume will be available via the battle pass.
I’m assuming we’re all on the same page when Activision teases that “new gear” will arrive as part of Season 3. It’s a new season of content, there’ll obviously be new weapon blueprints, charms, guns, and other things to earn as you rise through the ranks of the battle pass. Seems standard enough.
It’s the last part of the email that really intrigues me, though. “Worlds collide”. What exactly does that mean? ‘s first two seasons revived a number of fan-favourite maps, including Rust and Shipment. Recent leaks all but confirm that ‘s Backlot will be one of the Season 3 maps… is this what Activision is getting at, or is it teasing something more?
With only having come out last week, perhaps worlds will collide when Activision brings back characters from that classic campaign as playable operators? Maybe Infinity Ward is planning some kind of shake up for s massive battle royale map? We’ll have to wait and see before we can say with any certainty, but I’m intrigued.
