More Resident Evil Remakes Are Already Being Looked Into By Capcom

Now that the remake is out the door, I’m sure we’re all wondering what Capcom has planned next for the popular survival horror franchise. More remakes? A sequel to ? ? Hopefully not that last one, but given the quality of Capcom’s Resident Evil output over the last few years, we’ve every reason to be excited for the future.

According to a new survey aimed at the Asian market, Capcom is already trying to work out if fans would be into another remake or sequel for the series. Obviously a survey is hardly confirmation of anything, but it’s nice to know that the company isn’t taking the possibility of more remakes off the table.

There are still some Resident Evil games that should never be remade no matter what, but who wouldn’t love to see the original game rebooted in the style of the & remakes? Capcom could eventually sell all three titles as part of some kind of deluxe triple pack, and we all love a triple pack. Well, I do, at least.

For now, we have no idea if Capcom will release more Resident Evil remakes. However, recent reports havesuggested that a sequel to is already well underway. According to new claims from reliable horror game leaker AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, is coming in 2021 and will serve as a “huge departure” for the series.

“It is first-person,” AG wrote in a tweet. “Many purists are going to hate it because it’s taking some serious departures in the story/enemies and the like. Hallucinations, Occultism, insanity and not being able to trust others are huge thematics of the game.”

Previous rumours from earlier this year also suggested that would be first-person. At this time, it was also claimed that protagonist Ethan would star in the new game alongside original hero Chris Redfield, for an adventure that featured classic zombies, ghosts, and werewolves… Oh my.

If Capcom intends to experiment and try out all kinds of wild new things with future Resident Evil games (as well it should), then it’d make sense for the company to also put out more remakes of the classic games to keep those “purists” happy. Or maybe Capcom should just release that bloody remaster that we’ve all been begging for. Just a suggestion.

EA’s New ‘Rocket Arena’ Is More Than Another Battle Royale

BY THEREDNOW STAFF Y’know when games get revealed and they don’t really do it for you, at the first time of asking? I definitely got the impression that, after its spot on this year’s EA Play presentation, that has firmly fallen into that category. What was shown off covered some key bases: this is a […]
