Aussie Actor Isabel Lucas Dumped As Ambassador Of Humanitarian Organisation Over Anti-Vaxx Views

Australian actor Isabel Lucas has been dropped as an ambassador for Plan International after airing her views on vaccinations.

The 35-year-old, who has starred in and , commented on a post from controversial Aussie celebrity chef Pete Evans on social media.

Evans wrote about his concerns on getting vaccinated.

Lucas commented on the caption, saying: “Freedom of choice is every humans right. I don’t trust the path of vaccination.”

Vaccinations have been proven time and time again to be one of the most effective ways at preventing unnecessary death from treatable diseases.

Decades’ worth of research from across the world has confirmed that these jabs have helped prevent millions of people from getting sick and dying.

But Lucas isn’t only worried about vaccinations.

She’s also revealed herself to be worried about the rollout of the 5G network.

She wrote on Instagram in another post: “Why have we, the people, not been given the choice if we want this in our communities or not?

“When the community uses it’s voice it is clear that – the power is with the people, not with the people in power.”

The twin messages of anti-vaccination and anti-5G has sparked anger from fans, who tagged Plan International, a humanitarian organisation that promotes equality for girls, on social media.

One person wrote: “Are you aware your ambassador, actress Isabel Lucas, is one of these conspiracy theorists stoking fears during this crisis? She’s also anti-vaccination… go figure.”

As a result, Plan International has decided to drop Lucas as an ambassador.

Responding to the outbursts on social media, the organisation said: “We are aware of the issue and as of today, Ms Lucas and Plan International Australia have come to an agreement to end the ambassadorship.”

The partnership between Lucas and Plan International was a short one.

Plan announced Lucas’ ambassadorship on March 27 this year.

In the announcement, the 35-year-old was excited at the prospect of further equality for young girls.

“I am proud to join Plan International Australia on their mission to realise equality for girls and a better world for everyone,” Ms Lucas said.

“Girls hold the power to literally change the world, because if girls have an opportunity to gain an education, manage their health, and can live free from violence, then half of the world’s population will be more empowered.”

Looks like she won’t be helping that cause with Plan International anymore.
