Resident Evil Fans Don't Seem Happy About The Resi 4 Remake
Earlier this week, it emerged that Capcom is working on a ground-up remake of the 2005 classic Resident Evil 4 for release in 2022. Regarded by many as not only the best game in the series, but one of the finest games of all time, many fans soon found themselves asking the same question: Do we really a remake?
There’s no question that the remakes of and were incredible pieces of work that made a number of desperately needed improvements to a pair of classics that had been aged by dated mechanics. , as many will agree, has not aged badly. In fact, it’s aged pretty wonderfully. Aside from a few tweaks and quality of life improvements here and there, there’s not much a remake could do for this one.

And so, despite the fact that the upcoming remake apparently has the blessing of the original game’s director, fans made their feelings on the game known. The bottom line is that nobody really seems to want it… especially when titles like Code Veronica exist and are arguably much more deserving of the remake treatment.
The news has been met with confusion and disappointment so far, and while there’s every chance a remake could very well surprise us all by something new and incredible… folk don’t seem massively convinced right now. As you can see below. Also, people clearly want that remake. That or .
Still, there are some who seem interested to see what Capcom can do with a remake and are willing to put their scepticism to one side for now.
While I’m also very much on the side of a or remake first, you can bet I’ll pick up Resi 4 when it releases Hell, I already own the damn game on GameCube, Wii, PS4, and Switch. A remake with new content and all-new tweaks is kind of a no-brainer for me. Let’s just trust Capcom knows what it’s doing with this one.
