In his once a week Daily Mail column, Morgan implicated the head of state of using ‘the most effective podium on Earth to broadcast his bats *** crazy concepts concerning how to defeat the infection’.

Today, Morgan supplied us all with an update on his relationship with Trump, in which he confirmed the president had unfollowed him, shortly after the short article was released.

Today, Morgan provided us all with an update on his relationship with Trump, in which he confirmed the president had unfollowed him, shortly after the article was published. I can’t say I’m surprised.

Prior to writing his article, Morgan tweeted: “This is not just insane, it’s also incredibly dangerous. If Americans now die from injecting themselves with disinfectant, their deaths will be solely on President @realDonaldTrump. He needs to stop airing these absurd and reckless theories – NOW.”

Trump has faced a massive backlash after gave a press conference on Thursday night in which he told reporters: “I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute.

“And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.”

However, yesterday he said he was ‘asking a question sarcastically’ when he made the comments.

Speaking at the White House, he said: “I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen.”

He then added: “I was asking a sarcastic and a very sarcastic question to the reporters in the room about disinfectant on the inside. But it does kill it and it would kill it on the hands, and it would make things much better.”

In response to Trump’s claims of ‘sarcasm’ Morgan tweeted: “President Trump’s defence for floating bats*** crazy claims that injecting bleach can kill coronavirus is that he was being ‘sarcastic’. FFS @realDonaldTrump– this is not a joke. 50,000 Americans are dead and many more will die. Stop this nonsense and get serious.”
