The 55-year-old went on to rant: “So, the Prime Minister is urging millions of non-essential workers to go out to work – but also telling people we still can’t see family or friends even if we maintain the same social distancing rules as non-essential workers at work? Makes no sense.”
Then he added: “Why can I now walk 2 metres away from any random strangers all day long – but not do the same with my family and friends?”
In this evening’s speech, Johnson explained that primary schools could begin to reopen from June but clarified that it would be a phased return.
He added that, as of Wednesday, people in England can spend as much time as they like outdoors exercising.
He did however stress: “If there are outbreaks, if there are problems, we will not hesitate to put on the brakes.”
