A New Crash Bandicoot Game Seems To Have Been Teased By Activision

BY THEREDNOW STAFF

We’ve got some pretty exciting news for those of you desperate to recapture that happiness and carefree nature you once had as a child growing up in the 90s – Activision seems to be teasing something Crash Bandicoot related, and it’s looking like it might just be a new game.

A few days ago, GAMINGbible Towers received a pretty interesting package in the post. And by GAMINGbible Towers I mean our video editor’s flat. Anyway, inside was a box. A small box that one might describe as Bandicoot Orange, if one were so inclined. The box had a message on the front: “A little something to help you pass the TIME – Your favourite Bandicoot”.

That in itself left little doubt as to what franchise the package was pertaining to. But what was Activision teasing? Another remaster? A new game? A movie? When we opened the box, we discovered… a 200-piece jigsaw puzzle. Our video editor being the hard-nosed sleuth that he is, heroically assembled this puzzle in search of further clues. You can see the finished product below.

I haven’t played an awful lot of Crash Bandicoot in my time, but the more knowledgeable fans on the team assure me that they’ve never seen anything like in one of the games before. It kind of looks like a mask to me? Which would certainly imply that whatever is being teased is a new game, and not a remaster.

This also wouldn’t be the first time that Activision has teased a big announcement ahead of time with a fun novelty item. Press were sent a pair of fuzzy orange dice ahead of the remaster, and a purple egg before the Spyro trilogy announcement. Something’s afoot, that much is certain.

It’s unclear when exactly we’ll see a full announcement for… whatever this is, but both the Spyro and Crash Team Racing teasers were pretty swiftly followed up with full confirmation. Hopefully we won’t have too long to wait before Activision pulls back the curtain on this curious puzzle.

If we are getting a new Crash game, it’d be the first brand-new console entry in the series since 2008’s really not very good . 2017 saw the release of the which restored the Bandicoot to former glory by remastering the original PlayStation games and reminding everyone that, actually, Crash was really damn hard back in the day.

EA’s New ‘Rocket Arena’ Is More Than Another Battle Royale

BY THEREDNOW STAFF Y’know when games get revealed and they don’t really do it for you, at the first time of asking? I definitely got the impression that, after its spot on this year’s EA Play presentation, that has firmly fallen into that category. What was shown off covered some key bases: this is a […]
