A YouTube and Instagram star has caused outrage by uploading a video of himself licking the handrail on a New York subway train.

While it’s a disgusting thing to do at any time, New York is the coronavirus epicentre in the US, meaning the video isn’t just gross – it’s pretty stupid.

At least 210 people have died as a result of the virus in New York, with positive cases now topping 25,500 – or more than half of all the Covid-19 infections in the US.

In the clip, YouTuber Zeeshan Ali – who uses the name Prince Zee – can be seen licking the handrail while a commuter wearing a face mask is sat nearby.

Unsurprisingly, Ali has been slammed online for his latest clip, which was shared on World Star Hip Hop last week.

One person asked: “How is this even remotely funny?”

While a second commented: “People seem doing this should get arrested.”

And a third wrote: “I feel like if they’re arresting bar and restaurant owners for staying open during the quarantine for endangering the public, they should arrest this man too.”

Sharing an article condemning his clip from the New York Post, Ali, who some say was using a ‘fake tongue’, wrote: “dam I really triggered alot of you with this one [sic].”

Among those keen to give the YouTuber a piece of their mind was Piers Morgan, who shared the clip on his Twitter account with the words: “Another f**king moron. Find him, jail him, give him no treatment if he tests positive.

Earlier this week, Piers shared a short clip of a man licking products on the shelves of a Walmart in Missouri – today the local police force confirmed the man had been arrested.

Cody Pfister posted a video of himself running his tongue right along a shelf of toiletries. The clip prompted outrage and was shared across the globe with many demanding he be arrested.

Now, police Missouri have shared an update about the man, posting on Facebook: “A local resident who took a video of themselves licking the merchandise after making a ‘Corona Virus’ statement at Walmart and posting it to social media has been taken into custody. Charges will be pending through the Warren County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

“This particular video, which won’t be shared here, has gained some international attention and we have received numerous reports about the video from locals, nearby residents, as well as people from the Netherlands, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

“We take these complaints very seriously and would like to thank all of those who reported the video so the issue could be addressed.”
