Video Shows Robert Irwin Finding One Of Most ‘Endangered Species’ On Planet
Robert Irwin has managed to find and film one of the world’s ‘most endangered species’ on camera, reminding fans of his late dad Steve in a suspenseful short Twitter clip – although all is not what it seems.
Okay, so you may have been expecting some rare breed of poisonous tree frog or an albino koala (I don’t know), but what Robert found was arguably something altogether much more exciting.
Sharing the amusing clip on Twitter, he wrote: “The ultimate expedition searching for one of the most illusive and endangered species on the planet. I can’t believe we finally found it!“
In the footage, Robert explains he’s exploring the ‘natural habitat of a critically endangered species’.
“It’s very rare, and I’m gonna see if I can document it for the first time,” he says.
After crossing creeks and clambering through the dense forest, he eventually stumbles upon what he’s been searching for.
Mimicking his father’s excited presenting style, at one point he motions to the camera, whispering: “There it is! Come, come, come! Stay calm, get down.“

As the camera zooms in, we soon notice the object of his enthusiasm: a single roll of toilet paper.
“That’s amazing,” he says breathlessly – before suddenly spotting something else a few feet along.
“Hang on, look over there! Look! No way – even more endangered.”
This time, it’s a bottle of ‘critically endangered’ hand sanitiser.

His fans found the video hilarious, with many saying they could also see him following in his father’s footsteps.
One person joked: “These species are extinct in most parts of world and seeing these gives me hope for the future.“
Another said: “Dude, this really tickled me, I can see and hear your dad in everything you do. And I can’t think of a higher compliment than that, he was and is a true legend and my kids are learning all about him during quarantine.”
A third commented: “Brother I literally thought I was watching an episode of the Crocodile Hunter. I hope that you follow in your father’s footsteps and do a show like that because the world needs another Steven Irwin… Good stuff man honestly.“
