While the green sweet can cause revulsion with some people and be left at the bottom of every Party Mix or bowl, it has a special place in other’s hearts.

That’s why the confectionary company decided to fill bags with Spearmint Leaves and Spearmint Leaves only.

Nestlé Head of Marketing Confectionery Joyce Tan said: “The team at Allen’s is excited to bring back this minty-fresh lolly which was first made in the 1960s.

“The sweet treat was a fan favourite at our pop-up store a few years ago, so we wanted to continue making Aussies smile by bringing Spearmint Leaves back on to shelves.”

“The Allen’s team was inspired by Spearmint lolly-lovers themselves, so we’re confident that the return of Spearmint Leaves will be a hit amongst fans.”

No doubt this will go down a treat for spearmint fans around the country. A packet will set you back $2.50 and will be found at Coles supermarkets.

The company has previously unveiled a packet containing only Black Cats, which was a massive hit when that announcement came through.

The aniseed-flavoured lolly has an army of fans and Allen’s couldn’t help but throw them a bone.

They’ve been available at Woolworths stores since March 4.

Allen’s also released two separate products where they chucked chocolate on top of two big fan favourites.

One was mini bananas and the other was mini raspberries, but coated in delicious chocolate. What’s not to love?

To celebrate the launch of the chocolate coated bananas, Allen’s decided to pour hot chocolate all over the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.

Nestlé Joyce Tan said: “Allen’s is a proud Aussie brand many of us have grown up with, so when we decided to make our much-loved original bananas bite-sized and cover them in chocolate, there was only one way to mark the occasion.”
