Long-Forgotten PS4 Exclusive 'WiLD' Gets Surprise New Images Online

You may be forgiven if the open-world survival game has gone off your radar after its initial announcement back in 2014. And while most of us may well have forgotten about the so-far-unreleased PlayStation exclusive, it appears that developers, Wild Sheep Studio, certainly haven’t.

As spotted by Reddit user SchultzBear (via Comicbook) it appears that the official site has received new artwork and it honestly looks pretty stunning. The game was first announced six years ago at Gamescom and is the creation of Michael Ancel (Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil). You can check out the new artwork below, courtesy of another Reddit user, Master-Guts.

From the official site:

” is set in a lush, expansive world where you will learn and adapt to the ever changing world around you, whilst uncovering the secrets of the land. As you would expect from mother nature, the world will continually change through different time of day, weather and seasonal changes.

“Once you get used to your surroundings, you will learn Shamanic abilities in order to take control of animals and exploit their unique abilities to assist with your survival. Discovering the relationship between man and nature is the essence of . As you can take control of any animal in the world, this opens up huge potential for emergent gameplay that will be unique to you.”

Described as an “open-world, action-adventure” we’ve heard little since a second trailer in 2015, though Sony did file a trademark for it last year. You can check out the original trailer below (or here for a direct link).

There’s nothing else new to note on the website so it’s unclear if and when might be released. Still, the fact that the new artwork has suddenly appeared would suggest something is happening and many Reddit users seem convinced that it will head to PlayStation 5. And if the game is truly as stunning as the artwork, it would be a great way to showcase the capabilities of Sony’s next-gen console.

Of course, there’s been no official word from either Sony or Wild Sheep Studios but I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear something in the coming months about the future of this almost-forgotten game.

EA’s New ‘Rocket Arena’ Is More Than Another Battle Royale

BY THEREDNOW STAFF Y’know when games get revealed and they don’t really do it for you, at the first time of asking?
