It’ll be streamed on Channel 9 this Saturday (April 25) at 7:30pm AEST. It will also be broadcast in New Zealand on Three/ThreeNow at 9:30pm local time.

Barnes and Frontier Touring/Mushroom Group founder Michael Gudinski came up with the event.

Organisers say it’s not a fundraiser, but ‘an opportunity for our nations to be united by music and celebrate the things that bring us together’.

A statement from Frontier Touring says: “On an Anzac Day like no other, the Australian and New Zealand music community will join together to pay its respects and celebrate the mateship between two great neighbouring nations.

“While recognising and acknowledging the Anzac message, we also turn our attention to those that are currently fighting on the Covid-19 front line and say, ‘Thank you’.”

The concert will be for all the people who are on the frontline of Covid-19; from healthcare workers to the people keeping food delivered, those making sure our shelves stacked to the people cleaning our streets, and everyone in between.
