Isolation Nation Facebook Group Brings People Together During Quarantine
Living in lockdown is a wholly new experience for almost all of us.
The thought of not going to the pub, hanging out with friends, watching sports, having holidays or just living a normal life for who knows how long is a difficult prospect to contemplate.
Fortunately for us we live in an age of social media, and it has never been easier to feel connected to others while physically apart.
Isolation Nation is a Facebook group which has been set up by Therednow in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic as a place where people the world over can nurture positivity, be it through providing entertainment and laughs, or sharing tips and advice.

Already the group has been rife with activity, as people from all over the world have shared useful advice, touching videos and daft games to pass the time.
From film quizzes and meme threads, to advice on how to exercise while social distancing and support for those who think they’ve contracted the disease, the group has something for everybody and builds solidarity during this time of need.
The mission statement of the group reads: “This group is designed to bring some positivity, support and fun to anyone who might find themselves in isolation or quarantine as a result of the coronavirus crisis. We want to help people adapt and overcome the challenges of this virus.
“Isolation Nation will bring you:
– Any ideas that can help people in your community.
– Entertainment (let’s be positive).
– Expert advice. Anything you want to know, let us know.”

One member explained how useful she’s found the group in a post yesterday which read: “Personally this page has helped me cope and understand that WE are not the only ones affected by this present crisis.
“It is amazing how we have all come together through this group to support one another and it shows that no matter where in this crazy world you are, you’re not completely alone and others care for your well being!
“This page has made people’s life just a tad bit easier with the laughter you get from what folks post, along with heartfelt posts sharing positive vibes during all of this.”
So if you want to see an opera singer perform on her balcony, learn about the different measures that are being taken across the globe or try your hand at adding to the quaranTUNE playlist (which already features the likes of ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’, ‘U Can’t Touch This’ and ‘All By Myself’) then Isolation Nation could be a good place to go for some occasional respite.
