Brazilians In Coronavirus Lockdown Project Classic Video Game Street Fighter Onto A Building
The coronavirus lockdown has so far encouraged mass singalongs and entire streets taking part in workouts and balcony marathons. Over in Brazil, a creative isolator decided to think outside the box when they projected the 90s video game on to a building for the neighbours to enjoy.
Guilherme de Araújo Costa Ferreira was one of those neighbours. He’s been in quarantine with his wife, son and daughter, when the nostalgic game was played on Saturday (4 April).
Recalling the moment, he said: “The streets are usually full of cars and people. The neighbour of the building in front of us projected on the wall of the building in front of him an image of the 90s game I myself owned the Super Nintendo console as a teenager, and I played that game a lot.”
He said that the game lasted around five minutes and then other vintage games from the 90s were played afterwards – in total they lasted around half an hour.

Speaking to Therednow, the father continued: “Before they began to play the games, they showed some videos about the quarantine. Messages about the quarantine – stay home, stay firm, we’re going to make it.
“After that people began to clap their hands and yell by the windows. We had a very nice time after that. About 10 minutes after the messages about the quarantine, they started playing the games.
“There was one guy playing the games. It was difficult to see, but I could see a young man playing the game with what I think was joystick.
“Nowadays, everyone’s at home and we’re just trying to do something fun inside our homes. When I saw that on the wall – it was a big screen. I’ve never played on a screen like that, I would like to play on a giant screen like that.
“I just told my family – my son and my daughter – come over, let’s see, your dad used to play this game. I just sent some WhatsApps to some friends, everyone was commenting ‘what a great idea, loved it’.
“Then they called me and said my video was on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Oh people like it – great!”
