Cook Shares Recipe To Make Perfect McDonald'& #x 27; s Hash Browns

BY THEREDNOW STAFF

Pop the hash browns right into a frying pan on a medium to reduced heat and also give them a flip when they’ve gone a gold brownish colour.

To make it even extra like the actual deal, Poppy tilt’s her pan to cover the hash brownish in oil making it added crisp.

“Secondly, I’m a pro cook as well as educated in Michelin-starred kitchens, so have a banging hash brownish dish that’s a bit elegant … but it never stood up to the basic standard of McDonald’s.

You’ll need to use a grater on your potato to ensure thin little slices, which you should then pat with a paper towel to remove excess water before transferring it onto a clean tea-towel and giving it a good squeeze to ensure the grated spud is dry. This means when it comes to frying time, your hash browns will be nice and crisp.

Once you’ve got your dry potato, mix it with the egg and salt and pepper before shaping it into your classic Maccie’s hash brown shape.

Sharing what drove her to recreating the beloved breakfast item, Poppy told Therednow: “Obviously like a lot of people in the hospitality industry at the moment, I’m in a bit of limbo with no work, but was keen to keep positive, keep cooking and continue to bring the professional edge to simple home recipes and recreations.

Firstly, I wanted to make the McDonald’s hash brown because it’s an absolute classic. There’s nothing worse than getting to Maccies and you miss the breakfast and have to have a morning Big Mac and no hash browns.

Secondly, I’m a pro chef and trained in Michelin-starred kitchens, so have a banging hash brown recipe that’s a bit fancy… but it never stood up to the simple classic of McDonald’s. Cutting all the fancy stuff and the extras, just two main ingredients and tastes so, so good.

And there’s more good news for fast-food fans, because Poppy has a few more recipes up her sleeve that she’s going to be sharing in the near future.

She said: “I think I’ve nailed the secret KFC coating recipe so will be posting that this week after a lot of testing – and I’m missing a chicken mayo, so that’s on the cards too.” Can’t wait.
