Heartbreaking Hidden Camera Footage Shows Cat Meowing For His Missing Owner
BY THEREDNOW STAFF
A woman who caught a glimpse of her cat wandering around the house with a lead in his mouth and meowing, clearly looking for his absent owner, has now said that she feels like she can never leave him alone again because its so sad.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, loads of us have been spending a whole heap more time at home.
While that has some good and some bad parts, it definitely means that peoples pets have got used to them hanging about the house more often.
However, when Ida Myrin left her house to run an errand, her secret pet camera set up in her apartment captured the heartbreaking moment her cat Isola started wandering around the house looking for her.
The problem is, while her cat was looking for her, he was meowing plaintively and carrying his lead as if to say where on earth have you gone?.
Its heartbreaking.
To be fair, Ida was only gone from her house in Varmland, Sweden, for half an hour.
Ida told Daily Star: “We thought it was pretty cute at first but when we noticed that he didnt stop it just felt sad.
“He talks a lot with that whiny and sad voice and tone so its hard to tell [if hes crying].
“But he also hates being alone tho, so maybe he is crying.
“It felt like we never could leave him alone again.”
Speaking to Bored Panda, she explained a bit more about Isolas – lets say – unique character: “He is kinda spoiled and lazy, but also loving.
“He always demands our attention and yells every time he doesnt get it. Hes always moving so that he can see us both, he loves a good cuddle, but hates faces.
“When he was a kitten he often stopped what he was doing to randomly hit the floor instead and he has NO ball control. We also think that he is a bit claustrophobic. He loves feet. LOVES.”
Right, thats a bit weird, but OK.
She continued: “He has always been very attached to us, but lately, hes gotten more used to always having somebody around. He cant stand us working and focusing on other things than him at the moment.”
It would seem that the young cat cant stand her leaving, either.
However, while some of those whove now seen the footage Ida posted on Reddit have suggested she buy another cat to keep him company, she already has one.
In fact, she only left the house to take the other cat to the vet.
Ida added: “At first, we laughed, especially when he booped the camera, but then it was actually kind of heartbreaking.”
Anyway, Ida came back, Isola was reunited with his owner and his mate, and everything turned out fine.
Perhaps Isola needs to get over his fear of Isola-tion.
